Trip Information

Several times a year, the American co-directors of House of Hope, Carl and Carole Vorst, lead groups on short-term mission trips to Haiti. Usually lasting about seven to ten days, these trips are a hands-on way to experience Haiti and positively affect life for those who live there. The time at House of Hope is spent on work projects and getting to know the girls. Past groups have painted walls, constructed beds and shelving, upgraded electrical wiring, installed plumbing and taught the girls sewing, etiquette and hygiene. On recent mission trips, workers also taught neighborhood children hygiene and well care and spent time holding Vacation Bible School under a neighboring mango tree. Work projects are selected to meet both the talents of the team and the needs in Haiti.
